The image posted by Gizmodo, supposedly screenshot Lion shows the level of interest in upcoming major OS Apple updates when proof of identity by thin to non-existent. The image above all especially trayless DOCK and black menubar, already mentioned, comments probably is fake, and the article itself indicates issues that raise doubts about the authenticity.
Site reported that image gave them "anonymous tipster" who "got it from a friend who works for a mysterious company," but then goes on to suggest at least some of the many hints that it may not be the way of legitimate, including lowercase "mon", "Monday" (10.6 now uses the "Sun"), use the "h" instead of Apple's preference for "Sure" and there is no tray icon in the dock.
Other issues highlighted comments include font selection, no indicator works on any applications (even the Finder) and the ability to recreate the image using the Linux window manager for Gnome. Posts, shows a keen interest in anything can further show details of Mac OS X 10.7 beyond what Apple has already shown. The report took beating in this article 62 (and counting) comments.
