Apple used liquid contact indicators(LCI) in each of their devices for as long as I remember, but it looks like with company 2 I've stopped using them.
This makes sense because these sensors not everything reliable and is subject to many false positives from something as mundane as race. In 2009, this was big news that CNET covers and talked to News "channel 2" in Houston, Texas on complaints received from iPhone users. Even CNN had something to say about it.
It was easy to trip the sensors that lawsuit even more.
Eventually, Apple relaxed about sensors tough trip to the genius bar much less exciting now and then, in 2009.
