It was only a matter of time. Since the announcement of iPad 2 and with it the revelation of GarageBand for iPad, the race for someone to release an album recorded on the iPad using the app was on.
In December Gorillaz released an album made entirely on the iPad. Using iPad 2 and GarageBand, pop punk outfit The Ultramods today released its latest album using GarageBand’s eight-track recording feature. According to the band all instruments used to create the album are those bundled in GarageBand.
The songs on The Ultramods “Underwear Party” are, shall we say, “explicit.”
On the band’s website they describe themselves as specializing in,
“pervy pop punk and technologically obsessed new wave.”
Comprised of band members Bunny and Coco Ultramod (real names?), the band utilized used only the instruments included in GarageBand to record the twelve songs on the album.
Not only were GarageBand’s instruments used to create the album, the band also used the built-in microphone in iPad 2 to record the album’s vocals.
