The iPad is a splendid travel companion. Unfortunately one has to have an iPad for its travel benefits to be realized. A new service, PadInTheCity, aims to make your travel experience top-notch by offering 3G-equipped iPads for rent.
PadInTheCity, available for those traveling to Madrid, Spain, allows anyone to rent a 3G iPad installed with 29 apps for fun, and important business and tourist information. For $55 (€39) per day, one can rent an iPad complete with the apps and unlimited data.
Further, once you enter the dates you’ll be traveling to Madrid, PadInTheCity provides availability, and if an iPad is available, enter your information, pay through PayPal, and you’re set.
Upon your arrival, the service delivers the iPad to wherever you specify, a hotel, train station, airport, ect. Moreover, PadInTheCity provides its customers with a case and charger to use for the duration of their rental.
Note there is $708 (€500) hold that’s placed on your credit card when renting one of the iPads. Once the device is returned, PadInTheCity removes the hold, your trip has been bolstered through use of the iPad and your financial obligations to the company have ended.
